They had the “Hatch Chili” festival at Central Market this weekend. The Fresh Hatch chilies arrive and they have a giant roaster in the parking lot where they roast chilis.

I had to get some of course.

So I was faced with “Mild, Mild, Mild” or “Hot, Hot Hot” (or so the label said)

I figured if it was too mild, I would be forced to put on some crappy Salsa…so I opted for the hot.

I made grilled up some Chicken, bell pepper and onions and figured 2 chilis would do.

EEEEEEEEOOOOOOOW. Those are hot chilies.

Also…roasting chilis is one of those remind me of home things. My dad used to roast chilies every night about this time of year. We always ate dinner on the patio and this included dad fetching chilies from the garden and going at em with a blowtorch.

Yes….the table settings went fork, knife spoon blowtorch.
