Carrie asked to see my pedalboard so I took some pics. Ended up making a Poster of the whole deal….so it worked out pretty well.

Here is my standard “Sue” configuration.

Basically…I only use a Delayand the Sans Amp. This goes straight to the board. The volume pedal is used rarely…mostly to tune. Although, sometimes I turn my volume down and just saw away for effect.

Good times.

The Flanger is for a disco sound. Rare if ever used, but the dod is by far the best sounding flanger I have owned.

I sometimes use a reverb.

But only in the case where I have to set up my own sound and there is no sound person. Reverb is great, but a good soundman with a real system is a better person to tune ya in. Last week we played at Pearls (aka. the old Big Balls in Cowtown) in Fort Worth. No need for reverb there. ALL WOOD all around.

Chorus:

I have a CE-5 that I like to use.

But…mostly for the disco sounds. The Flanger sounds better.
The CE-20 was fun.
but its not the best sounding on a violin. Best for a guitar.

I bought a a looper...but Im still learning how to use it…and it really doesnt fit in the Sue sound.

Pearl makes it work for Thrift Store Cowboys. By the way…this is one of the best bands in Texas. BUY THERE CDS!!!!!!!

The Phasor is not so bad.

but its so hard to tell if its even on. A Phasor can be simulated with a Violin but just putting a fan next to it. Fans screw up violin acoustics. Being in Texas..its just something you deal with. Still..its a nice sound. I might just mod this pedal with and LED for the heck of it.

Distortion.

I have yet to find a good sounding distortion. The best sound is from the cheap Boss one.

Still…it sucks. Im working on building a Fuzz Face
Maybe Ill come across the ultimate Violin Fuzz.

Pine Mills

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

So lots of folks have been asking me about this Pine Mills fest. What is it?
Good times.

Basically Keith and Sue open their ranch (and arms) to the Dallas miscreants on this weekend. They charge a small fee to pay for porta-potties and thats about it. There is a huge dancehall on the premises (with real toilets..so its
not like its roughing it) and the bands play on Sat night. Locals come out too.
Keith has a BBQ going, but its best if you bring some food too. You dont need all that cooking stuff though…there is a BBQ and a kitchen.

Bring beer…cuz the county is dry. Bring a bottle of something something for Keith and Sue if you want.

Camping

DRink

Swim

If it rains…we all hang out in the dancehall.
When the bands play….Dancehall.
Say you want to play some poker…..Dancehall.

Kiss on your sweety…well…do that in the tent.
Mind the cows…dont litter…no drugs. No glass (Tuaca ok)

Good Times.

Enjoy outdoor adventure

Puke in a cooler at the bar

Live Music

Drink Beer

Hang out at the tank

Good times

Bloody Marys on Sunday on the porch

Ha…thats me with a broken foot. No excuses

They have a bar….but BYOB
